Agreement on the avoidance of double taxation with Cambodia.

Vietnam is Cambodia’s third largest trading partner among more than 140 countries and territories that have trade relations with the country. On July 31st, the Government issued Resolution 100 / NQ-CP approving the agreement between Vietnam and Cambodia on avoiding double taxation and preventing tax evasion of taxes on income. The Finance Ministry is tasked to assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with concerned ministries and agencies in, Vietnam and Cambodia in organizing the implementation of this Agreement. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall complete diplomatic procedures according to regulations and notify the concerned agencies of the date of entry into force of the treaties.

In 2017, Vietnam-Cambodia bilateral trade turnover reached $ 3.8 billion , up 29% over 2016, of which Vietnam’s export turnover reached $ 2.8 billion, up 26%, and metal Import turnover reached $ 1 billion, up 40%. The two governments pledged to try to bring both countries’ trade turnover up to $ 5 billion in the shortest possible time. On investment by Vietnam to Cambodia, by the end of 2017, Vietnam has 196 investment projects with a total registered capital of about $ 2.94 billion, in the top five countries with foreign direct investment in Cambodia.
